I have two Master's degrees in counselling and over ten years of experience as a therapist and clinical consultant. I’ve completed extensive post-graduate training in EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT, IFS, and DBR - six of the most empirically-validated and effective forms of therapy. I am honoured and humbled to practice as the only therapist in Canada to be certified in the three different therapies of DBT, EMDR, and CBT.

Passionately dedicated to my growth as a person and a professional, I’ve practiced meditation for 16 years, studied internationally under a number of psychological and spiritual masters, and lived in monasteries around the world. In order to offer my clients the highest standard of therapy, I continuously engage in post-graduate education, professional consultation, and self-directed study.

Into my early twenties, I struggled with severe anxiety and depression. After experiencing how counselling transformed my most profound difficulties into sources of creativity, compassion, and joy, I committed myself to helping others to do the same. I have come to believe that all people, no matter how battered or lost they may seem, are capable of healing and leading satisfying, joyful lives.

I live with my partner and our dog on Vancouver Island. When I’m not practicing therapy, I love to read, wander in the forest, meditate, and look out at the mountains and ocean.

“Do not assume that he who seeks to comfort you now, lives untroubled among the simple and quiet words that sometimes do you good. His life may also have much sadness and difficulty, that remains far beyond yours. Were it otherwise, he would never have been able to find these words.”

― Rainer Maria Rilke
